The marvelous lake and snow scenery can definitely put you to ease, although that and fine dining were the only entertaining things there. So only having that, you unwillingly were given an abundant amount of time to ponder and wonder. Many subjects came to mind-- New school year, friends, parties, college, and Fashion's The Word. Coming to the end of the trip, I came to the realization that Fashion's The Word is not heading towards the direction I want. I started this blog without a clear vision. Despite me loving everything about it, it wasn't where I found myself continuously updating. With a little remodeling, I'm with an idea of what direction I want to go--

1. A dual of both genders, maybe heading more towards the male side
2. A lot more personal
3. An abundant amount of fashion show reviews
4. More FASHION, less celebrities
5. Less Graphics, more content

I'm very hopeful that you may be at least half as excited as I am. If not, I aspire to make you think otherwise.
The site will be down for a few days-- Refurnishing!

Authentically, Cory K.

Obsession: Rihanna

Fashions the word... that every magazine Rihanna has been atop of illustrates. She has been an enormous obsession to vast portions of the world, just not quite to me. Like her song Umbrella, I feel as if she has been overplayed.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SH5qqboWHCI/AAAAAAAAAIw/00GDo7N5C2s/s400/MeCruiseDance+004.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5223729895000382498" /> She has been on one, too many covers. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly admire her determination to be on every top fashion magazine's cover, but I think it is getting old. We are in desperate need of more new faces like Leighton from Gossip Girl, Alexis Bledel from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pant's 2, or Kristen Stewart from Twilight. Rihanna has been seen as the cover girl for Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Glamour, Seventeen, Fabulous, Allure, and most recently InStyle. There are several others, not including the foreign magazines. Take it as you want, although I'm kind of done with all of it. Rihanna is beautiful and has exceptional style, but how many times can you interview and write about a pop/R&B artist before it gets dull?
Am I wrong? I'm willing to stand corrected; nonetheless I'll still be bored with her.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will be gone for a few days. I am going beach camping and then flying to vacation in Canada. Yippee for me. I'll still be able to comment everyone back, for I am bringing my macbook, but I probably won't make that many new posts. To speak more specifically; The Hill's stars gracing Rolling Stone's cover and the August cover girl’s of Vanity Fair. Despite these issues being separated by several months, they are still notably similar -- The covers! Call me weird, but the first thing that came to mind after looking at my most recent copy of Vanity Fair, was The Hill's invasion of Rolling Stone's cover. They were both adorned by four beautiful women, with the attire of short shorts/underwear. How congruent can you get?<img style="float:center; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SHzy4OvHmaI/AAAAAAAAAII/MsvEagDr_gk/s400/MeCruiseDance+004.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5223316715685255586" />
The Rolling Stone issue featured- Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag, Whitney Port, and Audrina Patridge. This magazine gave a short description on this fashion forward reality show, or so they say. They also gave us a scoop on all the authentic drama.
The Vanity Fair issue featured- Amanda Seyfried, Emma Roberts, Blake Lively, and Kristen Stewart. Actually, there are a lot more stars featured inside the pages, including the complete cast of Gossip Girl and the Jonas Brothers. This could well be my most favorite issue to date. Not only did they showcase multiple actors in ravishing photo spreads, but also interviewed each individually. Everyone found in this particular article are up and coming sensations!
Also! The August Vanity Fair issue has yet to hit the stands. My Aunt's friend miraculously gave her a copy. Luckily for him, he probably knows someone. She is a very loyal, yet obsessed reader of Vanity Fair. To my advantage, I paid her a visit and was able to sneak a long peak.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I renovated the site. I didn't like the previous look, but idolize the new one!

Obsession: "The Interns: Fashionistas"

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SHZiXQU6xoI/AAAAAAAAAHo/cFrC3W2wEdQ/s400/0385335482.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221468969641887362" />Fashions the word… that would instantly come to mind when I look at the cover of The Interns: Fashionistas. Gossip Girl is on break, so why not take a peek at this fashionable, drama-filled book. This would compel to anyone with an a la mode mindset. I was roaming through the book store, scouting for an appealing fashion themed novel. As soon as I laid my eyes on The Interns, I picked it up and started reading. It was utterly alluring, completing one chapter after another at light speed. Before I new it, I terminated the entire book. Any veteran or aspiring fashion intern, like me, would completely idolize this book. It well may be an overly dramatized version of an intern’s life, but it is still amazing. I adore how the author depicted New York City. I even find myself casting actors to play these entertainingly witty characters. As I said in a previous post, “I'm definitely not a reader,” although this book totally changes my perspective on the whole situation. I am now a strong believer of fashionable reading.
To sum it all up, Chloe Walsh is a fantastic writer and I am extremely anxious to read what happens next in The Interns: Truth or Fashion. I just wish they would put a male intern is this series!
Have you read this? What did you think?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had a huge urge to write this post right away. Please still look at the post on Teen Vogue below. VV

Magazine: Teen Vogue/ Amanda Seyfried

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SHVha5j8kYI/AAAAAAAAAHg/IK4iqrrsVQ0/s400/fhgj.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221186457762042242" />Fashion’s the word… that Teen Vogue definitely symbolizes. To be completely honest, I'm not much of a fan. I feel as if the magazine is built to fit to one type of personality. The magazine is also repetitive, photo shoot wise. The fashion spreads are recycled shoots of the past. Despite all those controversies I maintain over this teen fashion magazine, I do have some positives. TeenVogue.com is one of my all time favorites, showing intern blogs and short descriptions on editors/publishers. The website is a daily check.
Besides the website, the recent covergirl Amanda Seyfried, has an absolute adore factor. Becoming an instant star from Mamma Mia, also co starring with Maryl Streep, Seyfried has been put right in the middle of the spot light. Being in the center of everyone’s view, she always looks outstandingly beautiful. Her shoot with Teen Vogue was astonishing, wearing flowery prints, oversize tweeds, and luxe knits. With her modest and humble disposition, I believe Mamma Mia is just the beginning of her famed and successful future.

Entertainment: Confessions of a Shopaholic

Firstly, I feel completely depressed that I haven't been able to blog for the past few days. 4th of July has humongously occupied my whole schedule. So now that it has finally finished and passed, I'm back to completing my daily blogs.
To pay all of you back, I created a new look for the site. What do you think?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SHATxDdhFNI/AAAAAAAAAGY/MBD2OjfInYo/s400/texture16.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219693701586031826" />

Fashion's the word... that most likely influenced Sophie Kinsella while writing the hit novel, Confessions of a Shopaholic. I can honestly express that I do not get enjoyment from reading, but I had to learn more about this book. So I didn't read it, I just cheated by using cliffnotes.com and other summary sites. After reading all these run-throughs, I have become an addict and am out to buy the fashion forward novel. This is a complete first, for the only things I thoroughly read are blogs and magazines. I was just mesmerized by the wit, comedy aspect, and fashion talk. I don't really want to give anything away or create another summary, but I’ll just suggest you take a look at it and become captivated by its greatness.
Well, this particular post was labeled "Entertainment". That means Confessions of a Shopaholic has something to do with that. This best selling novel is actually coming to the movies, following the foot steps of fellow fashion themed book, The Devil Wears Prada. I believe it will become a huge success, staring Isla Fisher, Hugh Dancy, John Goodman, and Joan Cusack. Sadly, there are a few who entirely provoke this movie, but I believe the casting and everything else was done flawlessly. This movie is said to be released February 13, 08.
EXTRA FACT! Patricia Field, the stylist of The Devil Wears Prada, is also styling Confessions of a Shopaholic.

Obsession: Cheap Monday

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SGhN5qbX_bI/AAAAAAAAAFE/9Jtkfflbhs8/s400/picture15sl9.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217505821345709490" />
Fashion's the word... that would exactly be used to portray Cheap Monday. I undeniably admire this clothing line. I also idolize their style and punk like aspect. Being highly known for mostly jeans, they have a lot to live up to with their clothing. I genuinely believe they exceed any expectation. In addition, Cheap Monday's past entirely intrigues me. They started as just a weekend store that specialized on designer denim, in which they also sold secondhand clothing. It is really unbelievable what they have grown into since 2000, when that weekend store was first opened. For the want of cheaper yet still fashionable jeans, this whole phenomenon started. Everything changed and expanded when the glove fitting denim first hit the market in 2004. Since then, they have become unstoppable, putting spectacular jeans and extremely fashionable apparel on the market. Even without any traditional marketing, Cheap Monday has become a widely known brand throughout the world and can be found being sold in 1000 stores.
Want to Buy? Urban Outfitters is a huge carrier of Cheap Monday. Although, H&M retails some of their collection too.

Strictly Fashion: Steven Alan

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SGPda8HMIWI/AAAAAAAAAE8/XMOZcsZUCCE/s400/x34.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5216256248307786082" />

Fashions the word... that indie designer and boutique owner, Steven Alan symbolizes. The unfamiliar, under the raps designer is one of my favorites. He takes average and ordinary pieces and turns them into more swanky, contemporary, and desirable apparel. His designs are simple yet ambiguous, if that makes any sense. To speak metaphorically, his line doesn't yell, it just hums a unique tune. Steven owns a trendy and admirable boutique, where he sales his own independent brand and numerous others. 3.1 Phillip Lim, Opening Ceremony, Wings + Horns, and Conroy & Wilcox are a handful of labels sold there. His store originated in New York, but just recently opened several in Southern California. Now he is bicoastal and the owner of seven boutiques.
EXTRA FACT! Steven Alan is a divorced father who has one son, of which he shares custody with his x-wife.
ANOTHER EXTRA FACT! Steven Alan is starting a new line (not diffusion) for Urban Outfitters. It will be called Lark & Wolff and is planned to be merchandised in stores July 4th. The pieces will retail between $58 and $128.

Obsession: Colored Denim

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SGG1Y8D2KsI/AAAAAAAAAE0/4usHIFbqXWM/s400/texture4.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215649283515493058" />Fashion's the word… that would absolutely represent colored denim in the 70s/80s. This trend started to reappear around last year and I was completely appalled by it. I felt that since it was thought of around 30 years ago, that it should stay there. After seeing the trend revolving around me for quite a while, I started to feel warmer towards the idea. I then actually bought a pair of maroon Kill City jeans from Urban Outfitters. Beyond buying the colored pair of jeans that fit me like a glove, I have become obsessed. Since seeing my style widened by this phenomenon, I suggest that everyone give it a chance. This trend has been seen represented by celebrities like Rhiana, Fergie, Ashlee Simpson, and the Jonas Brothers.
WANT TO BUY? Colored denim is sold in an abundant amount of stores. She is truly one of my most favorite actresses, appearing in movies like Becoming Jane, Havoc, Get Smart, and above all The Devil Wears Prada. Not only is she a great actress, but she definitely puts her mark in the world of fashion. It is said that the movie, The Devil Wears Prada, put her in the minds of people as a fashionable actress. I wouldn't disagree, but she does unmistakably work up to the expectation of her character, Andy Sachs. She certainly looks utterly stunning at every public appearance. Hathaway has been seen wearing many designer dresses, such as a beautiful feathered dress by Bill Blass at the premiere of Get Smart. I absolutely love the modesty and timidity of her style, although she says that her personal wardrobe is something she "can't get right" and instead prefers "doing things she loves".
EXTRA FACT! She was raised as a strong catholic and wanted to become a nun, until she found out her brother was gay.

Inspiration: Kanye West

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SFqwqKlUB7I/AAAAAAAAAEk/efBBCIqhkMI/s400/img411.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5213673757076621234" />
Fashion’s the word that absolutely describes Kanye West. His and my style may not be in the same category, but I do take bits and pieces and use them as inspiration in my everyday wardrobe. Kanye West is also a huge trendsetter. He made the Shutter Aviators a huge success. Despite West really only making the Shutter Aviators big, I also admire many other styles of glasses seen worn by him.
His Music! If I dare say, I’m a pretty strong singer and I listen to many genres of music. Sad to say, I’m not a big fan of rapping; although that does not apply with Kanye West! I have loved his music since the debut album of "The College Dropout” in 2004. He is an astronomical success in the music department. West has his own record label - "G.O.O.D. Music" and has produced hit singles for Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, and Ludacris.

Magazine: Vanitly Fair

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SFlF3En_L1I/AAAAAAAAAEA/6XgtpiNTFeo/s400/fhgj.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5213274856094642002" />
Fashion’s the word that definitely comes up when you say, Vanity Fair. I recently was roaming though VanityFair.com, without a subscription, and was reading this article on Angelina Jolie, July 08’s cover girl. This article put me in awe and completely changed my perspective on her. I was utterly confused if I should label this post Inspiration or Magazine. Jolie seems like a very distinguished person and strong women. Prier to reading this article, I wasn’t even sure if I supported her and Brad’s relationship because I still felt bad for Jennifer Aniston. I know I’m in desperate need of getting over it. Well, I sort of did. I am now a very strong supporter of Jolie-Pitt. They seem like really great parents/people. I read that they only leave their children with at least one parent. It doesn’t seem like much, but I know it is hard for two working actors. Also, them adopting children of multiple raises, impassioned me. Jolie, loving to be pregnant, is very prodigious. All in all, I found this article very appealing and advise you to read it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ALSO! This is the 5th post of "Fashion's the Word". I love everything that they represent. When they first started as just a jean brand, they had no formal training. I really can’t believe what they have grown into. Every piece they design is greatly tailored. Rag & Bone tends to use very simple/dull colors, but the styling and design are uniquely wearable. Isn’t that all you want to find in a piece of clothing?
Fall 2008, has been their latest collection. I extremely loved what they put together. It really jumped out to me when I was looking through style.com. As I said before, the tailoring was magnificent. I absolutely admired some of the layering they put together. I also enjoyed how they took boyish looks and turned them into feminine looking, female pieces.
Want to buy? Rag & Bone are found in multiple boutiques. Odin, Steven Alen, Theory, and Owl’S Lab are just a few examples. Larger, more known stores, include Barneys and American Rag.
Extra thought! The name “Rag & Bone” comes from a British fixture. It was a man who went around the town with a horse and cart, finding bunches of scraps to recycle. Sadly, Garbage Collection started to decline the Rag & Bone population.

Obsession: Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses

<img style="float:right; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SFat_NOs_LI/AAAAAAAAADU/9qhAhXenpVM/s320/texture16.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212544920122621106" />

Fashion’s the word that comes up in my mind when you say, Wayfarer Sunglasses. Like Aviators, these glasses were first introduced to pilots, but right when they were released the public, they became a huge success among celebrities. Lindsey Lohan, Madonna, the Jonas Brothers, Ashlee Simpson, and the Olsen Twin are just a few seen sporting this fashion forward accessory. Of course, these glasses are made in Italy. These glasses are also made in the same authentic plastic design as they were in 1952, when they were initially introduced.
Want to buy them? I’ve bought Wayfarer Sunglasses from many stores, maybe even too many to recall. The most obvious places I remember are Urban Outfitters, Bloomindales, and H&M. They probably are sold in many stores of your local mall, too.

Inspiration: Jonas Bro's

**first blog
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_V06FV8_a4tQ/SFWpzZhswSI/AAAAAAAAAC0/dSwtBGAU7uI/s400/Image1.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212258844241871138" />
Fashion's the word that definitely describes the Jonas Brothers. These three truly inspire my wardrobe. Kevin, Joe, and Nick all have a fresh take on the Jonas Bro's image. Even with the paparazzi always on there tail, they still never seize to amaze us with their fashion forward styles. A definite must with them are, Skinny Jeans. To me, it is their trade mark. I expect it from them in every public appearance they make. I think I’m still without an image of them in shorts. For a group of teenagers/young adults, they really know how to work their boundaries. They work the colored denim, scarves, and even boots. Me being from southern California, hardly see fashion from male teenagers going that far.
Want their style? I find their style very top notch, yet affordable. They are seen wearing outfits that can be found in a modern day mall. I’ve seen them wearing a lot of Hollister and Ed Hardy t-shirts, but most of their type of clothing can be bought at local stores like: Urban Outfitters, H&M; and to be broad, Nordstrom. To be at least in the same category as their style, skinny jeans, and at least two layers are a must.
Key thought! They'd pick a blazer over a zip-up jacket, a scarf over a sweat band, and probably lime green over brown.
